Free-to-play medieval strategy game
Rise of Empires: Fire and War is a massive, multiplayer real-time strategy game developed by Long Tech Network Limited. It is a war game that will have you battle for world domination. In this game, you will take on the role of a leader of a small town devastated by the invasion of the Eastern Dynasty. You need to build your empire once again and rally your troops to win the non-ending war. The game features real-time combat that will challenge you to come up with a great war strategy.
Create the greatest empire
At its core, Rise of Empires: Fire and War—or commonly referred to as ROE—is a city building game mixed with war game elements. You will start with a small town, which you will need to build up from ruins. You will need to upgrade your facilities and research technologies to make your town better and bigger. The game offers absolute freedom when it comes to city building, so you can do pretty much you want to lead your country to greatness.
However, as with country building in medieval times, you will need to engage in war to expand your territory. To do so, you will also need to train your troops and recruit powerful heroes to strengthen your army. The game has tons of heroes that you can recruit, so whether you like to take out enemies at a distance or you want close combat, you have the hero for it. To make it more life-like, ROE also allows you to create an alliance with other players. Of course, you need to find the right people whom you can trust.
Rise of Empires: Fire and War boast a realistic experience for its players. From the map to its gameplay, everything takes you back to medieval times. However, there are still issues that need fixing. For one, there are times when the game drops you in a state with a bunch of people who do not speak the same language. With this, allying is completely pointless since you cannot communicate. More, hero recruitment relies on “luck,” as it gives you a hero at random. On top of it all, for a free game, you need to shell out lots of money to get the progress you want.
Would have been a fun game
Rise of Empires: Fire and War are very much like the war strategy games that flock the mobile market. It offers both city building and combat gameplay that will keep players occupied for long hours. However, calling it a free-to-play game seems to be a bit of a stretch as it will force you to buy in-app purchases to get the progress that you want. More, there are lots of other glitches that may be a deal-breaker for first-time players.
